1. Overview
ChartThesis is an educational chart-analysis application for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the app, why it is needed, how long it is retained, and the choices available to you.
We do not sell personal information, use cross-app advertising trackers, or require a broker or exchange login.
2. Information we process
- Chart content: Images you choose or photograph, plus any ticker, market, and timeframe context you provide.
- Generated analysis: The thesis, evidence, warnings, patterns, and key levels created in response to your request.
- Technical identifiers: A pseudonymous installation identifier used for request limits, duplicate-request protection, and service security. The backend stores a one-way hash rather than the raw identifier.
- Feedback: Optional usefulness ratings and issue categories you submit about an analysis.
- Support information: Information you voluntarily provide when contacting support.
3. How we use information
We process information only as needed to:
- Generate the chart analysis you request.
- Verify visible ticker and timeframe context where possible.
- Prevent accidental duplicate requests and enforce reasonable limits.
- Protect the service from abuse and maintain reliability.
- Understand optional feedback and improve analysis quality.
- Respond to support requests.
4. Service providers
ChartThesis uses service providers to deliver requested functionality. Chart images and context may be transmitted securely to our AI processing provider to create an analysis. Cloudflare provides API hosting, security, and short-lived backend storage. Live Crypto Beta may retrieve market data from public market-data services.
We do not authorize these providers to use ChartThesis data for advertising on our behalf.
5. Retention
- Uploaded chart images are not retained by the ChartThesis backend.
- Generated report data may be cached for up to 15 minutes to prevent duplicate charges and repeated processing.
- Pseudonymous daily usage counters expire after approximately two days.
- Optional analysis feedback may be retained for up to 90 days.
- Reports and source images saved to your Thesis Journal use your private iCloud container when iCloud Drive is available and may sync across devices signed in to the same Apple Account. If iCloud is unavailable, Journal data is stored only on the device.
- Support requests, including the contact email and message supplied by the customer, may be retained for up to 180 days.
6. Your choices
Camera and photo-library access are optional and controlled through iOS or iPadOS Settings. You can delete individual Journal entries or all Journal data from within ChartThesis. When iCloud is active, those deletions apply to the app's iCloud-synced Journal. Locally stored app data can also be removed by deleting the app from your device.
To ask a privacy question or request assistance, use the contact method on our Support page.
7. Children
ChartThesis is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as ChartThesis changes. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
9. Contact
Privacy and support inquiries can be submitted through the ChartThesis Support page.
